Dry and chapped lips are quite common in cold and dry countries. Besides using lip balm to lock the moisture of lips, have you ever considered to pamper your lips with a cooling yogurt mask?

As we know yogurt is as nutritious as skim milk as it contains protein, calcium, magnesium, vitamin B besides its active culture. Your drying lip cells crave for these nutritions. You wouldn’t know how it does wonder to your lips until you see the result with your own eyes.

Just follow the steps below:

1. Mix 1 tbsp of yogurt with 3 drops of lemon juice.

2. Refrigerate it for 15 mins.

3. Take it out and apply on your lips with cotton bud.

4. Cover your lips with cling wrap, leave it for 15 mins.

5. Unwrap and wash your lips with warm water.

6. Lastly, apply lip balm on your lips.

Take a peek on your revitalized fine and smooth lips.

This lip care natural remedy is especially useful to clear dry chapped lips. Stand the cooling sensation on your lips and do it on a regular basis. Well, the problems of dryness, peeling and chapping on lips should be able to leave you soon.

Again, consistency is a must on the application of natural remedy. Severe case of dry chapped lips however should seek specialist’s advice before applying any natural remedy.

To your healthy and kissable lips,

I think it’s time to reveal in details about the home remedies for keeping healthy and naturally sexy lips. Let’s start off with Red Dates and Gouqi tea which I take it since 2005 daily. I’m quite satisfied with the results as the tea not only keep my lips healthy but gives radiance to my skin.

In fact I mentioned it in my previous post, Tip For Healthy & Kissable Lips-What Should You Do? briefly, now I’m going to show you pictures of the ingredients and steps of the preparation. It’s as simple as ABC, that’s why a coach potato like me manage to take it persistently.

Red Dates (Jujube)

Gouqi (Medlar)

Ingredients:
1. 10 pcs of Red Dates (Jujube).
2. 3 grams of Gouqi (Medlar).
3. Rock sugar to your own taste.
4. 500 ml of water.

The steps are simple indeed. Just wash the Red Dates and Gouqi properly.
Boil the water and put both Red Dates and Gouqi into the boiling water. Brew them for about 30 mins.
Add rock sugar to your taste. You might skip this step if you feel alright as Red Dates do add sweetness to the mixture.
Here you get the Red Dates and Gouqi tea which are ready to be served once it’s cooling down.

Note:
You need to take it daily and consistently for a certain period of time before you see the results. I think this phenomenon applies to most home remedies using natural ingredients.

To your healthy and sexy lips,

Healthy reddish, moist and shiny lips are always luscious and kissable. However, they are simply vulnerable to climatic and environmental effects, aging, improper diet, unhealthy lifestyle and so on. Apart from avoiding various causes of poor lips, something need to be done to protect your precious lips.

Balanced Diet With Adequate Vitamins, Minerals And Fiber
Generally modern diets are sumptuous but imbalanced. Green vegetables, fruits, soy protein, nuts, cereal, rice bran beverage and more vitamins B,C and E, minerals and fiber rich foods help to boost metabolism, blood circulation, digestion and in turn healthiness of your lips.

Supplement With Chinese Or Ayurvedic Herbs
Chinese herbs have always play a role in my family’s daily and monthly nutritional preparations. Different herbs are taken on different times on different purposes. Consult a Chinese physician for your personal needs. For me, I take soup of red dates (Jujube) and gouqi (Medlar) mixture daily to boost my energy and replenish my blood. This preparation has certainly brightened up my skin and shined up my lips. Ayurvedic herbs with 5000 years of history are certainly helpful too. I think this can be a topic of my future blog entry.

Regular Body & Lip Exercises
We all know exercise brings many goods to our health. Lips with only 3-5 cellular layers can easily benefit from the workout as metabolism and thus skin rejuvenation are boosted thereafter. Exercise gives your lips a firmer and fuller look too. How about lips exercise? Yes, regular smooch and smack do help.

Home Remedies On Lip Care
Natural home remedies from mother earth do wonder to our lips. Some people even try to DIY their own lip products. Olive oil, ghee, jojoba oil, honey etc. moisten and smoothen lips; sugar and greentea exfoliate lips; beewax locks lips moisture; lemon, almond oil and rose water lighten lips color; milk nourishes lips……ya, tonnes of them, I’ll tell you in details later.

Drink Plenty Of Water
Ya, we need at least 8 glasses of water to prevent our lips from drying up. Those living in dry and hot countries, drink more water please. But, this tip doesn’t apply to patients suffering from kidney disorders.

Care Your Lips As You Care Your Face
You remove your makeup, wash, tone, moisturize and treat your face every night. Don’t forget, lips need your pamper too. After removing your lip makeup, apply lip balm or lip care home remedies and lip treatment or lip repair , if necessary, before you go to bed. Your lips need regular exfoliation to remove dead cells too and lastly, before you go out in day time, apply lip balm or lipstick with sunscreen.

To you healthy and sexy lips,

As what I see, a pair of healthy lips appears to be kissable by itself. As I mentioned in my last post on lip color change, healthy people have reddish, averaged moist and shiny lips, isn’t it a picture of sexy and inviting pouts too?

As health problems could reveal on our lips, when we try to work out a healthy and kissable lips, close attention has to be paid on daily diets, body workout, lifestyle besides direct care and protection of our lips. Let us start with things to avoid.

Do Not Be A Night Owl
Research has shown that we need 7-8 hours of quality sleep per night to maintain good health. 11pm-2am are especially crucial for healing of damaged cells and rejuvenation of skins according to TCM. As lips skin is much thinner compared to facial skin, the effect of sleep deprivation could be more prominent on it. Lack of sleep is a form of stress which leads to lower body immunity. So, don’t be a night owl and overworked to avoid darkening, drying and infections of lips.

Stop Smoking
Nicotine in cigarette stains our lips besides teeth. The longer we smoke the darker our lips become. Smoking risks our health and in turn affect the appearance of our lips too.

Avoid Outing Under Hot Sun
UV rays in sun is a major cause of aging and burn on lips. Avoid sun bathing or outing under hot sun but UV rays present even in cloudy days, so, wear a lip balm or daily conditioning treatment for lips with sunscreen before you step out of your house.

Do Not Use Old, Expired Lipstick
Basic formulation of lipstick contains pigments, oils, waxes, emollients, colorings, fragrances and so on. Apparently, synthetic chemicals which tend to decompose after certain period of time are included in most lipsticks. Hence, watch out the expiry date of your lipstick. Also, wear only reliable brands of lipsticks with no harmful ingredients such as lead and butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP).

Cut Down Coffee & Tea
Coffee and tea cause darkening of lips but not at a significant extent as smoking does. Cut down the consumption however if you drink more than 2 cups a day. Replace these caffeinated drinks with healthy fruit juices for healthier lips.

No Licking Please
Don’t lick your lips when they are getting dried. Saliva will evaporate eventually and leaves your lips dryer and even cracked. Chapped lips sufferers especially need to consciously stop the action.

So, there’s re at least 6 things to avoid. What about things to do to have healthy and kissable lips? Check out my next post.
