It’s good to apply natural remedies to treat chapped lips. I’ve introduced honey, Vitamin E, red dates, gouqi, lemon and yogurt as ingredients of red, moist and healthy lips in my previous post. They should help in preventing or soothing dry and chapped lips.

But, there are flaws of home remedies for lip care. Guess what? It takes time to prepare, can’t keep for long and not as portable as commercial lip products. Thus, good quality natural lip balm and lip gloss are the alternatives for home remedies.

When we think about lip balm, Burt’s Bees would come into our mind. Undoubtedly, Burt’s Bees is the household name for lip balm. Would your mom remind you to apply Burt’s Bee when your lips were getting dry? Yes, my mom used to do that.

Burt’s Bees claims that its products are natural. In other words, their products use natural ingredients though there is no legal definition for the term ‘natural’. Burt’s Beens have a wide range of lip care products, people with chapped lips should go for Medicated Lip Balm for treatment and non-flavored Beewax Lip Balm for daily protection.

I emphasize on non-flavored balm as to avoid licking on your lips. If you put on strawberry, honey, mint or any other flavored balms, you would be tempted to lick and eat it, right? :) Our saliva tends to evaporate easily and the lips would become drier.

Besides menthol and camphor, Burt’s Bees Medicated Lip Balm contains clove oil which is a natural antiseptic derived from clove, a type of tropical spice. My mom likes to add it when she cooks curry. This combination of  ingredients should help to relieve sensational pain of chapped lips and protecting the lips from further crack. Apply it when your lips are too dry and about to peel out. Never wait til your lips crack or chap. Burt’s Bees lip balms could be found everywhere.

I shall recommend another brand of lip balm  which is not only natural, but organic in my next article. Stay tuned.

To your chapped free lips,

Zing
